Charming Garden Apartment, Mojacar

Mojacar Playa, Calle Zurbaran, Mojacar Playa, Almeria, 04638, Spain

Ideal family holiday home. 5 min walk main beach,restaurants.shops. free WIFI

A very popular garden apartment in a superb central location. Our quiet residential area and extremely well maintained pretty complex, designed in the Spanish pueblo style is just 5 minute walk to the main part of the Playa's sandy beaches, shops and a very wide selection of bars and restaurants ,

Unique traditional design makes it more like a villa with a pool in the garden!!

The back door leads to a private secluded courtyard with a dining table, chairs and barbecue where you can enjoy long lazy lunches under the shade of our orange tree!.

There is also a clothes drying area.

As we use it for our own holidays you will find it exceptionally well equipped. We hope you love it as much as we do! We have been delighted with the many reviews and repeat bookings from satisfied guests.

We found the apartment very comfortable, everything we could possibly have was there, clean, nice spot to sunbathe in the garden, pool was good, everything was good!!! Marie helped us out with the television when we were there as my husband couldn't figure out how to work it properly and then she came back again when it seemed to go off line ( very windy for a couple of days) with her partner who kindly got it up and working again!!! Thank you to them again. Will be back I'm sure as we are still on the look out for our own property!!!!

I recently took a vacation to Mojacar with my family directly after I had been to France for the euro's. I only bring this up because it was one of the most relaxing holiday's I ever had. The apartment was up to an extremely high standard and there was someone on the ground who could be there within 10 minutes if there was any issue with the property.

Prior to the vacation, Iverna (The lady who owns the Apartment) had sent me detailed directions to the apartment which I found with no hassle and an excellent document outlining all the restaurants and local bars she recommended. Mojacar itself is a picturesque town amazingly suited for young and old families. I had an amazing time there and will certainly go back in the future. The property was in impeccable condition and there was the added bonus of having an extremely private pool there which is great for the kids and English cable was an additional bonus for the kids to watch a bit of T.V in the morning while we made our plans for the day.

I would highly recommend it!

The apartment was exactly as described. The facilities were all clean and the linen was changed weekly. The apartment was comfortable and big enough for us, two adults and two dogs. The location was good, the "campo" was convenient for walking our dogs and we were close to all the restaurants, cafes and bars. The feral cats in the area are a nuisance. We had difficulty watching the TV some evenings because of the poor reception. Overall we enjoyed our month long stay very much.

We had a wonderful stay at your apartment in Mojacar. Apartment was pristine - everythig we needed was there - customer service was excellent. Ideal location. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend /relative.

This was our first time to visit this part of Spain. Mojacar was a very good base to explore the area - particularly the Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Nijar. We enjoyed the beaches at Mojacar, Playa de los Muertos and around Las Negras & San Jose. We also enjoyed some hill and coastsl walking particularly the La Mena - Macenas Loop Walk from Mojacar Playa and the circuit of Mojacar Pueblo. All in all a wonderful week. Plenty more to do & see. Highly recommended. Hope to return again next year for a longer stay. Kevin & Mary Browne (Dublin, Ireland)

Mojacar

long uncrowded sandy BLUE FLAG beaches are one of its main attractions and among the best in Almeria. The beaches are 14km long, with a large part being designated an area of natural beauty. Only 7 km have been developed and they consistently earn European Blue Flag awards for cleanliness.

The beach resort has been developed over the past two decades, it is now a lively resort with much to offer with beach bars, local and international restaurants, discos, hotels and shops. The resort enforces a building restriction to prevent it becoming a high rise concrete development; residential buildings are restricted to two storey and hotels can't be built higher than four floors. Giving you a feeling of space that cannot be found anywhere else along the eastern Spanish coastline.

Mojácar, with its hill-top village offers both history & romance.

The Pueblo is a picturesque sight of whitewashed buildings and steep and winding, cobbled streets. Perched high on a hill in the Sierra Cabrera it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. It was a centre of trade for the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans but the Moorish influence dating from the 8th Century, is most visible.

The place is a melting pot of cultures, indeed, it is said to have proportionately one of the most international blend of people in Spain. It is also a haven to people with an interest in the arts, many writers, painters and photographers have made Mojácar their home. Moreover, it is a very popular tourist destination thanks to its unique charm, relaxed atmosphere and warm hospitality.

There are variety of interesting boutiques and shops to tempt you or why not relax and have a beer or two in the many excellent bars and street cafes. Every Wednesday is market day and the streets are home to numerous stalls selling essentials to the locals.

At Desert Springs 'The Indiana' is an 18 hole, par 72 course of 6,173 meters designed by Peter McEvoy, the successful Walker Cup captain. Situated about 15/20 minutes from Mojacar it is the first desert course to be built in Europe rivalling any of the now famous desert courses in Arizona or in California. With lush fairways, water features and rugged desert terrain Desert Springs is destined to become one of the finest golf resorts in the world. Here golfers are compelled to keep the ball on the fairways but can take relief from staked cacti. It is highly recommended.

As well as year round activities such as golf, diving and horse riding, during the summer months there are a wide range of organized activities, live music, flamenco, quiz nights, volley ball competitions and village fiestas. As in most Mediterranean countries, children are welcome just about every where. For younger children, there are many playgrounds dotted along the beach as well as organized activity groups supervised by professional nannies. For older children the Pueblo Indalo Complex is popular for its table games, discos and evening shows, all ages will enjoy Mojacar mini golf, Garrucha go - cart track, The Sorbas caves, Vera aqua park and Tabernas theme parks.

For those looking for an active holiday there is much to do. There is a full range of watersports including jet ski-ing, canoeing, water ski-ing, sailing, big game fishing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and scuba diving. If you have a head for heights why not take a flight in a microlight over the beach at the Indalo Wings Microlight Center or try your hand at paragliding.

Also in the winter months there is skiing and snowboarding available in the Sierra Nevada mountains, situated just 2 hours drive from the beach.

For those interested in wildlife you’ll find a lot to enjoy without going very far, in fact, the region includes some of the most unique and varied wild life habitats in the whole of western Europe. The Cabo de Gata Natural Park and The Sierra Alhamilla Mountains are interesting and rewarding areas for the wild life enthusiast; over half of the 8000 species of plants native to Spain are common in Andalucia, including 150 species which are unique to the region. Many of the plants that are indigenous to Andalucia grow only in the arid areas of Andalucia.
